In a little over 6 months I will be getting married!! Part of me still can’t believe it, but as I pick out bridesmaid dresses, look over engagement photos, and decide on table decorations, it all starts to remind me that this is really happening…

Jimmy and I will be husband and wife…

We will be united as one…

I will be his forever Queen BehBeh…

He will be my forever King BooBoo…

Before all that happens, I would like to share our proposal story with you.

Sometime in August, my family took a vacation to Panama City Beach, FL. This included my mom, stepdad, brother, sister, and the dogs. A day or two into our trip, Jimmy decides to fly down as a surprise to me (but it kinda felt like he was just disrupting our family vacation)  😉 …

I had a feeling he might be proposing soon. Actually, I accidentally figured it out because my mom SO excited she couldn’t contain herself. (Lesson learned: Jimmy and I can’t tell our parents anything if we want to keep it a surprise)…

However, I had no idea how he was going to propose.

A couple of days later my family wanted to take pictures on the beach. It was going to rain soon so they told me to hurry up and get ready. I thought, “This might be it!” But I didn’t allow my self to get excited because “what if this wasn’t it?!” #mixedemotions #calmdownfrances

After quickly getting ready I walked oustide, down the stairs and noticed red roses lined in the sand as Jimmy waited for me at the bottom of the stairs.

“This is it I thought.”

We laughed, I felt some butterflies but knew he was more nervous than I.

To be honest, I don’t remember everything he said. It all kind of felt like a blur and I remember his proposal being really long (haha). It was not a quick “will you marry me?” scenario.

However, I do remember him reading John 13:3-17, the story of Jesus washing His disciples feet. (If you are not familiar with this story, I encourage you to read it here).

John 13:13-15 ESV

There is a portion of that passage where Jesus says, “You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you…”

Why is this so vital for us? Because we are called to serve one another as Jesus served His disciples, especially in marriage.

He washed my feet y’all!

Not only did Jimmy tell me he wanted to be my servant, he showed me during the proposal by leading me to a pool of water and washing my feet.

He then prayed for us, showed me the most beautiful sparkly ring I ever did see, and asked me to marry him.

So, on Thursday, August 11, 2016 I, Frances Estela said I would marry my King Booboo 😍 ❤️ 🙏🏽

I’m nervous, excited, scared, and mourning my single hood. In light of the whirlwind of emotions, we are doing our best in preparing for marriage. I’ll keep y’all updated! #prayforus #mtl2gether
